Connect Claude Code
Add Attorly to Claude Code with one command and use its tools for contracts, clauses and legal research from your terminal.
Before you start
- An Attorly Pro or Enterprise plan.
- Claude Code installed and signed in (run claude --version to check).
Steps
Create a key
Create a key in Settings › Developers and choose Claude Code. The settings page then shows the steps below with your key already filled in.
Create a key for Claude CodeAdd Attorly to Claude Code
One command adds Attorly to Claude Code for every project on this computer.
Run this in your terminal
bashclaude mcp add --transport http --scope user attorly https://attorly.ai/api/mcp \ --header 'Authorization: Bearer lbmcp_your_api_key'Check that Claude Code can reach Attorly
bashclaude mcp get attorlyCheck that it works
Start Claude Code and run /mcp. Attorly should be listed as connected. Then ask: “List my five most recent documents in Attorly.”
If it does not work
- /mcp shows Attorly as failed.
- Run claude mcp get attorly and check the URL and the Authorization header. To start over, run claude mcp remove attorly --scope user and add it again.
- Attorly only works in one project.
- It was added without --scope user, so Claude Code saved it for the current project only. Remove it and add it again with --scope user.
- Something else went wrong.
- Errors such as 401, insufficient_scope and rate_limited are explained in the MCP troubleshooting section. Every call also appears in Settings › Developers › Request logs, with the error it returned. MCP troubleshooting
